Who we are

TreeSurgeonCheck is run by Slinkytronic Ltd., the data controller for this site. Contact: hello@treesurgeoncheck.co.uk.

If you send an enquiry

We collect the details you enter (name, email and/or phone, postcode, premises type and job description), with the date, the page you sent it from, your IP address and the consent wording you agreed to. We use them to pass your enquiry to up to three tree surgeons that cover your area (or to the one business you chose), and to keep a record of which businesses we sent it to. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by emailing us. Businesses that receive your enquiry become responsible for your data under their own privacy notices.

We may email you once, around a week later, to ask whether a business replied. We keep enquiry records for 24 months, then delete them.

Business listings

Listings contain business information: name, phone, address, website, services, approvals and waste carrier registration. It comes from Google's business listings, the business's own website and the Environment Agency public register of waste carriers. Where a business is a sole trader trading under their own name, that name appears as the business name. Businesses can ask us to correct or remove a listing at any time.

Cookies and tracking

We don't use cookies for advertising or analytics. We measure visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and doesn't identify you. When you click through to a business's website, we count the click (which business, and which of our pages it came from) and add tags to the link so the business can see the visit came from us; we don't record who you are. Our enquiry form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to stop spam; it processes technical data about your browser for that purpose only.

Where your data is held

The site and enquiry records are hosted by Cloudflare.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@treesurgeoncheck.co.uk. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
